SAGITTARIUS WOMAN AND VIRGO MAN

She asked where he lived. "Second to the right," Peter
said, "and straight on till morning."
"What a funny address!"
Peter had a sinking. For the first time he felt that perhaps
it was a funny address. "No, it isn't," he said.
Well, hurray and hallelujah! Give that Virgo man with the peculiar address a
hearty handshake and a bear hug! He's off to a racing start with the half-Horse,
half-Human female Centaur, for whose love and admiration he's willing to give
up his treasured loner's existence. For her, he'll even sacrifice his bachelor pad's
peace and quiet. But for her (or for anyone else) he should never sacrifice his
sense of personal dignity and self-confidence, especially not his self-respect. A
man has a million uses for self-respect, so it's not sensible to allow even the
woman he adores to rob him of it.
You'll notice that at first he hesitated, nearly submitting to the sinking feeling
of inadequacy a bright and cheerful but distressingly candid and forthright
girl Archer can unthinkingly instill in a Virgo man's solar plexus (which, if he's
not careful, can develop into an annoying attack of Virgo indigestion). But our
hero triumphed over the impending danger of inferiority, the challenging threat
to his masculinity. Never mind her frank (or amused) opinions and comments
about his perfectly proper address. Never mind what she thinks of his apartment,
his socks, his ears, his hair, his nose, his job, his careful and modest
dreams, his car - his habit of buying Ivory soap by the case, or his medicine
chest, well stocked with aids to "gentle elimination." She thinks his address is
funny? He'll tell her a thing or two. And so, he speaks right up to her, firmly
and sternly - "No, it isn't. It is not a funny address."
That's the first thing he tells her. The second thing is that she should learn
to close her mouth before she speaks, and keep it closed while she's analyzing
what she was about to say - and if she thinks it over carefully, with a little consideration
and forethought, she might decide not to open it at all - until she has
something nice and kind to say to him. Surprisingly, she'll probably love it. Actually,
this girl is searching for a firm but tender man, who will keep her in her
place - as long as he doesn't keep her there by sitting on her puppy-dog friendliness,
optimistic enthusiasms and fiery ideals. It's an undeniably delicate task,
but the Virgo man who loves her is gifted with the art of delicate diplomacy, and
he just may be able to handle it. He possesses an almost mystical talent for finessing
things through to a smooth finish.
Happily, he's solved one problem between them in their tense 4-10 Sun
Sign Pattern relationship, already. He's trained her to soften the tips of her Jupiter
arrows a bit, and not pull so hard on the bow. He's made her see that her
thoughtless remarks can really hurt - and with Virgo's curious ability to be
sweetly polite, even while scolding, he's made her realize that he does comprehend
her lack of malicious intent, her basic good will and naivete. She may bequite sincerely, moved to tears. She's wanted and needed someone to understand
her real self for the longest, longest time, someone who won't judge her
harshly for just being true to how she feels - and spontaneous when she has
something to express. Therefore, instead of starting a quarrel between them,
her Virgo lover or husband's firmness may have the opposite effect of bringing
them closer together than they were before. Beautiful. Bravos and posies.
Good for him, and good for her. Now, the next problem. (You surely didn't expect
them to be fated to struggle with just one problem, did you? After all,
their natal Suns are squared, remember.)
Her practical jokes. Sagittarians of both sexes are absolutely addicted to
puns and practical jokes. She'll think it's hilarious as puns go, that a Connecticut
town, in celebration of ERA's birth, officially changed the description of a
public occupation as "building personholes," avoiding discreetly the use of the
no-no word "man." (Virgo might think that one is pretty funny himself.) Then
he'll ask her what time the mailperson is due, because he wants to post a letter,
she'll ask him if he doesn't mean "personperson," he'll tell her that "mail" isn't
"male," and she'll say it doesn't matter how it's spelled - he'll ask her how she
would know, since she's such a dreadfully poor speller herself, and they'll crack
up laughing together. One of the nicest things about Sag is that she's a genuine
good sport, and is never up-tight about enjoying a joke on herself. Most Sagittarians
can take it as cheerfully as they dish it out. And he must admit that's a
shining virtue, only too rare in this dreary world. All right, we've covered her
penchant for puns, and he handled that problem quite nicely too, don't you
think? With just the right amount of good humor and careless teasing, adding a
pinch of her own kind of truth that stings. And she laughed. She was pleased,
she didn't pout, and they're still friends. The practical jokes may be a little
tougher.
Excuse me. You'll NEVER BELIEVE what just happened! I've been writing
this book for a little over nine months now (it takes nine months to create a
human child or a brain child, a tad longer for elephants) and this is the FIRST
TIME EVER that my IBM typewriter ribbon ran out at precisely the exact
same second the IBM correctional tape ran out! Isn't that one for the Guinness
book? The Virgos reading this are now busily calculating the percentage possibilities
of such a double fade-out. The Archers will want to know if I'm making
it up to be funny, or if I'm being honest. Sag has a thing about integrity. I am
not making it up, and I'm not trying to be funny. It's true. It happened, and I
have a witness. So there. I'm either approaching the end of this book, or the
end of my Virgo-like cool. There are unmistakable signs and I do hope the
former occurs before the latter. (No, I'm not a Virgo, I'm Aries, but Vulcan is,
I'm sure, conjunct my natal Sun. I'll let you know when they discover it (Vulcan)
and are able to calculate its orbiting movements.) Now back to the Sag
practical jokes, with which the Virgo man will have to contend sooner or later in
their relationship.
As briefly as possible, I'll give him a sample of how gigantic a Sagittariantype
practical joke can be. I mean, some of them are harmless little bits of fun
and foolishness, but since Jupiter, the ruler of Sag, is the planet associated with
expansion, an occasional Archer prank can get a little out of hand, so to speak.
Briefly, then, there is this man named Steven Masover, who is enrolled in college
at Berkeley (California) in pursuit of a higher degree in physics (on a scholarship,
and he was also Valedictorian of his high school graduation class). Steven's
Sag-type caper, which news stories referred to as a "Robin Hood prank"
(Robin Hood has a tight affinity with all Archers), was to hold up a bank, with
an unloaded gun and a fake bomb, making off with $78,000 in cash. His defense
was that he had no intention of stealing the money, he had only borrowed it to,invest it in colonies in outer space, as a way for Earthlings to escape pollution
and overpopulation, and planned to pay back every penny in 20-odd years or so.
(Pollution, Love Signs can't help Steven solve, but the overpopulation problem
is tackled in A Time to Embrace, in the back of this book.) Masover was acquitted
by the jury (in a Jupiter-type stroke of pure luck) because the D.A. couldn't
prove he "intended to deprive the bank of the cash permanently" (a prerequisite
for stealing) although the latter commented that he felt "spending the money
on space stations would amount to the same thing as depriving the bank of it
permanently, using common [Virgo] horse sense." Or Sagittarian horse sense.
Or whatever. The big fear now is that the "flukey" acquittal of the perpetrator
of this flakey but eloquent practical joke will encourage other "Robin Hood robberies."
The fear is groundless. Real criminals don't have the kind of genius
and imagination to come up with that sort of laden-with-hidden-truth rationale
of invisible but powerful integrity. However, it certainly may encourage other
Sag practical jokers, heaven help us all.
The Virgo man may wonder why I chose a male example of a practical joker
to warn him about his female Archer's playful, filly foibles. I had an excellent
reason. I wished to emphasize to the Virgo man that, while he was born under a
"feminine" Sun Sign, and is also actually ruled by the feminine planet Vulcan
(see Virgo-Virgo chapter), which doesn't mean that he's a sissy (Virgo Elliot
Gould, a sissy?), only sensitive and perceptive - his girl Archer was born under
a masculine Sun Sign, and is also guided (puns, truth arrows, integrity, practical
joking and all) by the masculine planet, Jupiter. Double feminine influence versus
double masculine influence, adding up to a clear conclusion. He was absolutely
right to tell her a thing or two when she made fun of his address, because
he's going to have to keep a firm rein on this lady Centaur, or she'll kick over the
traces. As we've already proven, she'll enjoy it secretly more than she resents it,
if the rein is held in loving and kind, considerate hands, which it surely will be
with a Virgo man who really loves her.
With his double feminine influence, of gentle wisdom, he'll be able to perceive
that this girl-woman is a trusting, vulnerable creature, for all of her double
masculine macha, and she doesn't win every race. She's stumbled and fallen
more times than she can bear to remember, trusting people who hurt her and let
her down, just when she needed them most. He'll soothe her painful memories
with his affectionate concern, and help her analyze why she should forget them,
now that there are only the old scars to remind her - assure her the scars will
disappear sooner if she looks to the future, not to the past. Then he'll promise
her that he'll never make her sorry she had faith in him, if he can possibly help
it - and he'll mean it. She'll look into his clear, quiet Virgo eyes (that twinkle
with the silvery streaks of his foster ruler Mercury when he's happy) and she'll
know he's wholly and completely earnest. She's right. A Virgo never makes a
promise he's not willing to do everything humanly possible to keep. That counts
for a lot, and if anyone realizes it, she does. There's an alarming shortage these
days of honest people, who live from the inside out, not from the outside in. So
many get it backwards, the way to find happiness, like Hiawatha's mittens.
Since she can't stand hypocrites or phonies, she should thank her lucky stars for
the love of her Virgo gentleman (meaning gentle-man). That's something I forgot
to tell him. This girl is lucky. No matter how many times she makes a mistake,
her misjudgments have a way of landing on their feet, and sailing her into
the winner's circle. Knowing this astrological certainty will comfort him when
he's suffering through some of those really huge goofs, caused by her wellmeaning,
impulsive enthusiasm.
The physical closeness they share, if he continues to keep a firm grip on the
reins, and if she doesn't bruise his sensitivity and subconscious need for purity,
has the potential of being as passionate as her Fire Element nature, yet also as
cool and as deep as his "Earthy" desires can make the togetherness between a
man and a woman. There's something of calm and stillness about him that
channels her longings gracefully into the direction of a kind of fulfillment that
makes her know how much more important affection and peace are than winning
all the games in a romantic challenge. The warmth of him beside her is
something she senses she'd be empty without, if they ever allowed their clashing
personalities to cause them to say goodbye. And he knows too, though he may
never express it in words, that the emotional storms they sometimes endure may
leave his spirit weary and tired of trying, but if she ever went away... who else
would awaken him on Christmas morning (as she did their first December together)
wearing holly berries in her hair, breathlessly telling him to look under
the blanket she holds in her arms? (No one.) Peeking out of the blanket were
six black, shiny noses, belonging to six wriggling puppies born to their St. Bernard,
Amelia (for Earhart), the night before, while he slept, at exactly midnight
on Christmas Eve, she told him . . . her eyes shining with glittering stars of excitement
and childlike wonder. Every time he remembers that crisp, cold, winter
morning... the way she'd tucked the holly berries in her hair, like a small
girl, to surprise him . . . the snow frosting her lashes (she'd just come in from
checking the drifts in the yard, to see if they were deep enough to make a snowman
.. they were . . . so they later did).. every time he thinks about the way she
smelled like clean, cold ozone when she kissed his forehead lightly, and merrily
told him to hurry and come downstairs, because she'd made a fire, and couldn't
wait for him to look under the tree to see what the reindeer had left there
he gets that funny lump in his throat he can't swallow. And he knows how
right he is to keep trying to understand this lovable, graceful, funny and vulnerable
. . . bright-eyed and intelligent but awkward girl clown, whose nose always
turns red when she cries.
She gets the same kind of lump in her throat every time she remembers the
morning he shyly brought her a tiny bunch of violets when she was aching inside
from something very personal and sad she didn't even know he was aware of
.. but he was. He handed her the violets so softly, without a single word. What
other man she ever knew would have done that? (No one. Not in quite the
same way.) So what if he's occasionally cranky and cross, a little stuffy about
money? He's a quiet man, of many dimensions and levels of loving. He may
not talk much around others, but they're both Mutable, and he talks a lot with
her . . . telling her things he'd share with no one else, because he knows he can
trust her to keep his confidences, and treat them tenderly. He had to train her
to listen and understand the value of privacy . . . but Sag is super intelligent (Jupiter
ruling the 9th house of higher education) so she learned quickly . . . many
things he taught her. It's only because she's careless and disdainful of detail
that she keeps spelling committment with two "t's" and commited with only
one. Never mind. She can't spell it, but she knows what the word means. It
means the same thing as a promise, doesn't it?Yes it does.
If the Virgo man and his girl clown-philosopher really care, they can turn
their 4-10 square of tension into a gigantic Jupiter-Vulcan trine of steady contentment
over the years, and celebrate Christmas every morning, with one sort
of gift or another.

VIRGO WOMAN AND TAURUS MAN

Virgo girls turn up their pretty noses at messes. Most of them are as neat as
pins. There may be a Virgin here or there whose surroundings are a little cluttered.
But her mind is always well dusted, and sliced into precise thoughts -
and there's probably no loose tobacco in the bottom of her handbag.
In August of 1974,1 was having lunch with a Virgo newspaper reporter. We
were discussing her Sun Sign, and she remarked, "I'm not at all hooked on that
Virgo neatness compulsion. I let my trash can overflow for days before I get
around to emptying it."
"Sure," I told her, "that's because you don't like to get your hands dirty."
Then I stared pointedly at her fingers, and her poise shattered like fragile glass.
"Why are you staring? Oh, this smudge? That isn't dirt. It's my ring. I
have a lot of acid in my system, and gold turns my skin green when I get nervous.
I thought I got it all off when I washed my hands an hour ago, but - well.know it looks like dirt, but it isn't, and - uh, waitress! Where is your powderLittle Women. The Virgo puritanicalfeels what is

who believe that casual sex, without commitment, is very glamorous

Then, like I said, why not treat the cause?
I'm sorry I can't tell you the final outcome of their argument, because my
taxi came, and I had to leave before it was resolved. However, that brief (and
actual) portion of their conversation should clear up any muddy, preconceived
astrological notions that every female Virgo Virgin is a nun-like Miss Innocent
- and every male Bull is a coarse, erotic creature of lust, snorting in passion
at all the cows in the pasture.
If Carrie Nation reincarnated today, and began waving her hatchet at prostitutes
on street corners, there might well be more "sensual" Bulls and "sexy"
Scorpions following behind her and yelling "Right on!" than supposedly "puritanical"
Virgos - which would surprise everybody but astrologers. The Virgins
would probably be eloquently urging Carrie to use her hatchet on the porno theatres
and newsstands where the concentration on sexual excess is first encouraged
- to attack the root of the matter, not its branches - with the typical Virgo-
like ability to
emotional attitudes.
It takes Virgo to figure out that the massive rise in sexual abuse of children,
venereal disease, abortion, and the great increase in rape the feminists are so
outraged about, is not the fault of the prostitutes. Prostitution has always been
around - as an outlet for the emotionally deprived and disturbed. Virgo calmly
comprehends that the true guilt for deliberately arousing the emotionally
healthy to join and increase the ranks of the disturbed lies
other than the brothels.
After a while, the Taurus man will grow to appreciate his Virgo girl's own
special brand of honesty, and realize that her tendency to avoid labels, and to
analyze things before hastily judging them, is a definite virtue, not a vice. It believed the manhim, if he
takes time. She might even someday cause her affectionate Bull to admit that a
woman who was once a prostitute was the only one who really
who promised her he would conquer death - the only one of all his fervently devout
apostles and followers to go to his tomb on Easter morning to seek him -
while all the hypocrites were either weeping in lack of faith, or running around
trying to figure out how to escape the wrath of the Roman soldiers, some even
going so far as to deny they ever knew him.
A Virgo girl who's in love with a dogmatic-type Bull may have to convince
him that her views on public morality don't necessarily reflect her private code
of behavior. Like Caesar, a Taurus man expects his woman to be above reproach.
She probably is, although she may not be above reproaching
turns sex into a subject for humor. To her, sex is a beautiful, pure emotion that
deserves respect - and a good deal of concentration and practice to make it perfect.
Her cool, analytic approach may initially chill the Bull's more direct and
sensual lovemaking attitudes, but they'll probably find a way around such a
temporary impasse between them. As with the other 5-9 Sun Sign Patterns, romantic
love and sentimental affection will play equally as important a part as
passion in their sexual union. Most of the time, this man and this woman will be
wonderfully able to fulfill each other's silent needs, through the rare intimacy of
understanding common to all 5-9 vibrations, especially to those of the Earth
Element.
Practicality may not sound like a romantic word. Yet, with these two, it can
form a deep and comforting bond between them, a strong cord to encircle their
love. Neither Virgo nor Taurus is the kind to indulge in passionate emotions for
no reason, or to become enraged over things that can't be helped by anger. He
may brood a little - and she may have some mild attacks of indigestion - but
on the whole, they'll both agree with the alcoholic's creed: "Give me the grace to
change the things I can, to accept the things I cannot, and the wisdom to know
the difference." (It's doubtful, though, that they heard the words at an AA
meeting. It takes tremendous pressure and unbearable anguish to drive a typical
Earth Sign to either drink or drugs.) When the rest of the world seems to be
crazily dipping back and forth, she feels safe only with him - and should he
happen to bump into the uncontrolled, abrasive emotions of a stranger, he'll run
back to the security of her arms, the refreshing, quiet stream of her controlled
feelings. He'll say something richly humorous that strikes her funny, she'll
laugh her little Virgo silver bell laugh and then "practicality" can become
a very romantic word. She may be finicky, yes - but unreasonable? Never.
There's a chain of sympathy, bright and golden, connecting the Virgo girl's
obsession for "little things" with the Taurus man's enjoyment of the senses. He
likes the way new pencils smell like cedar. She adores sharpening them to a fine
point. He likes the crisp, clean, cold feel of falling snow on his cheeks . . . . she's
fascinated by the tiny, glittering stars it makes on the sidewalk. He likes to chew
pine needles, to taste their fresh, green, spicy Christmas smell. She loves to pick
them up and place them in neat stacks, one by one.
The Virgin and the Bull can spend their lives together drenched in the ecstasy
of contemplating all the small and ordinary wonders around them. It's
such a fiercely gorgeous (and natural) "high" - if only they don't smother it by
expecting too much. The eternal perfection she seeks is a mirage. The eternal
security he seeks - likewise. They're both looking for a sure thing. But the
nearest they may ever come to a sure thing is each other.

room please?"
One of the barriers between a Virgin and a Bull is that a Taurus man is inclined
to be a teeny bit untidy. Some of them are downright sloppy. And a few
Bulls are just plain slobs. They love beauty and luxury around them, but
they're too busy making the bread that buys it to be bothered picking lint off
their trousers, combing their forelocks into neat curls, sweeping up their crumbs
and ashes, draping their sweat shirts on satin hangers, or polishing their shoes to
a high gloss. The practical Bull may worship currency, but not to the extent
where he feels compelled to launder all his bills and press them with a hot iron.
To Taurus, wrinkled money is still money, as good as gold. Just like a man with
a wrinkled shirt is still a man (perhaps more so than those chaps with their ruffled
cuffs and velvet lapels) - and also as good as gold. An occasional Taurean
will place an emphasis on grooming, but he won't make a fetish of it. As long as
he's scrubbed and clean, he's not going to worry if his shoelaces aren't tied in
neat bows or one sock dips down a quarter of an inch lower than the other.
There's a misconception about Virgo girls which may shock the Bull who
discovers it. Naturally, all Virgos aren't Virgins, but it goes deeper than that.
Her love of order and her sharp foresight, based on a highly developed critical
sense, make her seem conventional to the point of being puritanical. But she is
not necessarily Beth, of Louisa May Alcott's
morality is an astrological myth. After all, you can be courteous, gracious
and discriminating without being a prude. She investigates the facts, observes
the action, works it all through her mathematical thought processes, and forms a
clear opinion (usually unspoken) of what's best for everybody. However, what
her acute observations have led her to believe is best for everybody can be anything
from building more convents to encouraging more nude group therapy. It
depends. Her moral attitude is intellectual, and her emotions are seldom involved
(unless she has the Moon in a more sensitive Air or Fire Sign). Virgos are
as curious as they are critical. How can you correct a flaw if you haven't examined
the vase? So, this girl is often accused of (or given credit for? ) a stuffy
sort of morality she doesn't possess.
The Bull doesn't talk much about his ethics or morals. He
right or wrong, then acts with blind determination, and very little reflection on
the intricacies of the issues. When their different methods of arriving at the
truth lead them to the same conclusion, things are pink and rosy. But when
they take a mental detour, these earthy lovers can bury each other in frozen silence
and unbending stubbornness.
I was once a helpless bystander during a quarrel between two friends, a Virgo
girl and her Taurus lover. We had all three been rapping about the Aquarian
Age sexual revolution, its implications and various by-products, from the vulgarity
on the newsstands to capitalizing on sexual lust and violence in films, all
in the name of glorious freedom from censorship. Before I had a chance to air
my personal views, these two began to challenge each other.

TAURUS WOMAN AND VIRGO MAN

It's almost impossible for a Taurus woman to seduce a Virgo man. But she
shouldn't allow herself to feel inferior over this. It's almost impossible for
any
woman to seduce a Virgo man. Remember that Narcissus is supposed to have
been a Virgo (though if he was, he had an Aries Ascendent and the Moon in
Leo). The reason astrological legend has labeled Narcissus as a Virgo is that
most Virgos are somewhat self-centered, not in the egotistical sense of Leo, or in
the spoiled sense of Aries, but in the symbolic sense that all technical, literal
Virgins (both male and female) are absorbed in themselves, because they're unaware
of what being totally awakened in all ways really means.
This man can't bear the thought of any sort of self-surrender. It implies a
lack of self-discipline. He's not terribly interested in conquest either. So it's
not surprising that he can't arouse much enthusiasm for Valentine's Day. However,
the Taurus girl is a few strides ahead of her astrological sisters, should she
decide to educate the Virgin in awareness of what makes the world spin for
those who enjoy the ride. He may not chase her down Lovers' Lane with bated
breath, but neither is he likely to run away from her. Since their natal Suns are
trine to each other, there's a lot going for the relationship from the start. Their
natures, goals and desires are similar. Influenced by a double Earth vibration,
TAURUS:
don't exist. Period.
If you have a healthy mind and body, and fulfilled emotions, nightmares

She makes it sound so simple (and it is, really) that he'll stop worrying, because
obviously, he is properly loved by a woman who is both sensible and sensuous.
At least, he'll stop worrying temporarily, while he's chewing her crunchy
carob brownies, and nibbling her fragrant ear lobe. A Virgo man is repelled by
most artificial odors. He likes everything to be natural, as Mother Nature intended.
But he rather enjoys the fresh, feminine smell of scented soap, especially
on the ear of a sympathetic woman who listens calmly to his worries, without
becoming all flustered about them herself. She's an excellent listener, and he
can be a pretty fascinating talker. A Virgo man's conversation is usually highly
intelligent, clever, bright and interesting, even if it's not always terribly punchy.
Sexually, both of them fall under the category of the silent type.

say about sex anyway, and even if he could, he'd probably be too embarrassed to
say them in mixed company (the two of them alone together
- to Virgo). He's not frigid, and he has nothing against sex. In fact, a Virgo
male can create great beauty in the physical expression of love by blending
desire with emotional tenderness, stimulated by mental excitement. But he's
not moved to a single tremble or tremor by the kind of sex that lacks the qualifying
aspect of its higher purpose. She won't object to that attitude - no real
woman would. She'll probably believe she's lucky to share with him an experience
of such gentle affection and passion, and she's right. She is. Virgo love
burns with an intense white heat that fulfills with a more mystical depth than
the brief, red flame of more casual lovers.
Not that he doesn't know how to employ the light touch of romance, if and
when he chooses. This man isn't the kind to fall asleep in the middle of making
love, no matter what you've heard. (He's too wide awake from worrying about
whether or not his partner is pleased with his sexual behavior.) Some Virgo men
indulge in dozens of light-as-a-feather affairs, because they're experts in the art
of playing at love. And so an occasional Virgo male will attract promiscuous
women, with loose morals. They feel safe with him. Because he takes it all so
casually, they sense there won't be any unnecessary emotional scenes of jealousy.
Just good, clean Virgo fun. However, since this man never seeks a party girl
for a mate, he soon tires of the shallowness of the game, and then he's ready for
a permanent relationship. If he should happen to be strolling through a Taurus
girl's garden about that time, he'll be enormously susceptible to a serious romance,
followed by marriage. To state it plainly, he's a sitting duck.
She'll have to remember, however, that marriage is not a natural condition
for a Virgin, although if anyone can make matrimony seem to be more cozy than
confining, it's a Taurean female. As long as she doesn't make him feel possessed,
he'll be putty in her hands. She needn't worry about giving him too
much freedom. No matter how much rope she gives him, he'll probably only use
it to find his way home to her in the dark. He's rather a creature of habit, when
all's said and done. He's grown accustomed to her face, to her fragrant ear, his
own private shower, the fresh orange juice she squeezes for him every morning,
and his shirts all nicely stacked in the drawer, with no ring-around-the-collar.
So how is he going to be able to get used to hanging his socks on a strange towel
rack? Especially when the neatly darned toes and heels would be sure to remind
him of her, and cause him to have an attack of the guilties on the spot.

and she may complain that his ideas of personal comfort are somewhat Spartan,
but neither of them are inclined to throw away money with careless abandon -
so finances will seldom be a subject of contention. With or without a harmonious
Sun-Moon aspect between them, this man and woman can rely on the
smooth empathy of the 5-9 vibration to mist each misunderstanding with sympathy,
and soften each argument with forgiveness. It's not easy to please a Virgin,
but the Taurean woman can come mighty close to doing it, and she's capable
of touching her Virgo man's skeptical heart with her own special kind of
warm, unselfish devotion. If she sticks to it (and that's where much of her talent
lies - in sticking to things) she may, after a while, learn the knack of Virgo criticism
herself. Then she can send him a Valentine, in verse, that says (in
part)
(firmly) People who are properly loved have healthy, happy, fulfilled
the almost always harmonious 5-9 Sun Sign Pattern, they're both steady, sensible
types, who would rather be caught doing almost anything than messing
around with fantasy, flightiness or fickleness. She's soothing, and has a nice,
quiet voice. He's gentle and has clear enunciation. So, naturally, they don't
grate on each other's nerves.
If the Taurus girl plays her cards right (which is a somewhat inappropriate
metaphor, since few Earth Signs like to gamble) she can have him eating out of
her hand before he knows what hit him - and even coming back for a late-night
snack in her kitchen. What hit him will have been comfort. A female who
speaks and moves so sensuously and slowly seldom makes mistakes. Unless
you're a Virgo man yourself, you just can't imagine how comfortable it is to be
around someone who's not always making mistakes and goofs you feel compelled
to catch and correct. Didn't anyone ever tell you that compulsive criticizing
isn't much fun? It can be exhausting.
Neither of them becomes angry very often or very easily. They have fairly
tranquil, peaceful dispositions in common (though he may bite his nails and
blink his eyes a bit more than she does). Still, when the Bull does lose her temper,
it's quite a blast, never mind how rare, and it may leave deep scars. When
Virgo finally works himself up into a snit, it's usually a relatively shallow, surface
emotion, that doesn't last very long, and certainly doesn't drive itself deep
into his soul. Worry is something else again. A Virgo man's worries do drive
themselves deep inside of him, but not necessarily into his soul. They settle in
the general region of the stomach and the intestines, which is why he's always
poking about in her pantry when he stops for that late-night snack - to see if
she has any Pepto-Bismol or Turns handy. Now, if she had a quick temper like
other females, she might take offense at this apparent slur on her cooking. But
the typical Taurus girl will accept all the little idiosyncrasies of her Virgo lover
with equanimity, unless, of course, her Moon or Ascendent is in a more sensitive
sign.
Virgos don't itemize their apprehensions every few minutes. They don't
even holler about them every few hours. They can't see any point in airing them
as often as once a year, and some Virgos keep their trembles locked up inside for
decades. Do you have any idea what that can do to your digestive system, not to
mention your subconscious or psyche? It's also the major cause of arthritis and
rheumatism.
I've always felt that Hamlet may have had a Virgo Moon Sign, revealed
when he said, "I could be bounded in a nut shell, and count myself king of infinite
space, were it not that I have dreams." Virgos are normally quite satisfied
with small, nutshell-like spaces in which to stretch their egos and ambitions.
They're normally content to be hard working, polite and helpful - to spin their
own little cobwebs of hope, without tramping all over everyone else. It's those
darned dreams. Everyone knows (and certainly Virgo does) that bad dreams
and nightmares from suppressed emotions can cause anything from an attack of
gastritis and mild constipation to ulcers. That's where the Taurean woman
comes into the picture. Not to nurse him, but to soothe him, with her practical
philosophy about nightmares.

LEO WOMAN AND TAURUS MAN

May a Bull aspire to own a queen? Most Bulls are more at home in a china
shop than in the presence of royalty, and you know how flustered they are in a
china shop. They're not frightened by the pomp and pageantry, but all that
bowing and scraping and riding around in golden carriages - and coronations
that last for days, while everyone gets tipsy, and stops working - is just plain
"too much fuss and feathers" for the sensible Taurus man.
He isn't unappreciative of beauty. Most Taureans have a latent (or exposed)
talent for artistic form, through painting, dancing, sculpting or music.
But his biggest talent is looking at the world through practical glasses. He saves
both his money and his emotions for a good cause, and throwing either away on
red carpets and crowns is not, to his way of thinking, a good cause.
A Leo girl is looking for a man who recognizes her as a Queen, who can (in
addition to cherishing and adoring her) provide her with the kind of life she Wall Streetin his stocking feet. How mundane and plebeian. So she surprises himNewmagazine, folded to the back pages of the homes-for-sale listings (beginningNew York magazine?
What
magazine spread out neatly under the kitty litter box in the pantry. Obviously,
something has to give. It won't be the Bull.
Bulls don't back away. They either hold their ground - or they charge.
She's better off resigning herself to her Taurean lover or mate's holding his
ground, than to risk goading him into charging. Believe me. Still, if she's willing
to wait, and not rush him, he may someday provide her with all those things she
seeks, including the rings on her fingers and bells on her toes - maybe even a
lovely home in the suburbs, or a wonderfully warm and beautiful remodeled
barn in the country, complete with fireplaces, beams or rafters, and the sweet
scent of new-mown hay drifting through the windows each morning. He may
not reach his goal of security overnight, but she'll never find a man with a better
chance (counting her invaluable help) to someday present her with her very own
kingdom over which to rule. Just give him time, and
magazine? House listings? What house listings? Later, she finds thedon't nag him.
In 1971, when I visited the Hearst "castle" in California, the estate of the
late William Randolph Hearst (a Sun Sign Taurus), the image of the Bull was
everywhere. A determined Taurean male, slowly but surely building a newspaper
empire, stacking up millions, then creating - from a private dream of love
in his incurably romantic heart - a solid, tangible faerie-tale castle, not imaginary
in any sense of the word. The furniture in the several-hundred-odd rooms
is massive. Everything in and on the estate is bigger than Life, bigger than it
need be, typical of the Taurean admiration for plain and simple
larger, the better, for the Bull. Wherever I looked, I could see the Venus taste
for life's "necessary luxuries," like the gold bathroom fixtures, pure silk wallpaper,
thick Persian rugs, and ornate (large, of course) expensive marble statuary.
Every male Bull should drop by the Hearst castle to see what Taurus
dreams look like when they finally come true. If he's in love with a Lioness, by
all means, he should take her along. She'll be enthralled, and purr like a kitten
all the way home. It will perhaps then dawn on her that his stocking feet are
leading him in the same direction - and if she helps, not hinders, his plodding
path, he'll get there. This could be just the male who might someday give the
Lioness her very own yacht for her birthday. (Maybe she'd better image that
occasion as their anniversary. He'll probably be much more sentimental about
the latter date than the former.)
When the Bull has finally accomplished his mission in life - a comfortable
home, and a large collection of Washingtons, Lincolns and Jeffersons (not paintings
- green bills), the Lioness will surround him with her own touches of richness.
She'll see that he's comfy and cozy, padding around in his stocking feet on
thick carpets, under soft lights, to the sound of stereophonic violins, smothered
with constant attention and bathed in a smooth, serene existence. Nothing
could make him happier.
But while he's still laying the foundation and digging the hole for the cornerstone,
he won't want to take the time to dally at court. He'll resent being expected
to run around to parties, play politics with her friends, wait on her royal
whims and feather dust her throne. All that foolishness of continually pampering
her pride and plumping up her ego seems to him like a shameful waste of
time, and Bulls do not like to waste time, any more than they like to waste money
(which, as you know by now, is not at all).
Although these two Sun Signs are square, and therefore capable of clashing
violently over their differences, if they hang in there until the clouds start showing
their silver linings, it could be super. They'll find each other great company
as they wander through the tower rooms, feed the swans on the lake, share romantic
dinners by candlelight, pull up the drawbridge over the moat, and pull
on velvet ropes for the servants to turn down the satin sheets on their imported
canopy beds. Yes, I said beds - plural. They'll probably have separate boudoirs,
because the Lioness will likely want her own dressing room. She has to
have, after all, some place to keep her creams, lotions, perfumes, bath oils and
manes (hairpieces).
If they're patient.... well, Taurus is patient, so at least half the problem is
solved. She, however, is a Fire Sign, and Fire Signs are all a little short on patience.
It makes the preliminary period of castle building somewhat fraught
with fretting and tricky tensions, all the way from minor molehills to major
mountains. In the interim, while they're dreaming of their two monograms entwined
inside a heart etched on their Fostoria, silver, linens and fine china, they
can idle away what few leisure hours the Bull can afford, making love. It could
be one of the few times when they'll be in complete agreement. On the other
hand, it could not. Much depends on the Moon-Sun relationship between their
horoscopes.
On the positive side of the Luminary harmony in their nativities, there's the
physical compatibility they can reach together. A Leo woman is proud and
aloof, even distant, with strangers. But when she's wrapped up in the arms of
the man she truly loves, she becomes a fierce Lioness, who fairly oozes affection
and sex appeal. The Bull won't fight with her when she's running her gentle
hands through his hair, smoothing his skin, massaging his back, kissing his ear,
and stroking his hand.
A Taurus man is almost helplessly vulnerable to the touch, the sound and
the scent of his woman, and since Leo females nearly all adore perfume, he'll
whiff away contentedly, like the peaceful Disney Ferdinand the Bull, in his most
blissful state of ecstasy. His strength is awesome, yet this man is always in danger
of becoming a Samson in the clutches of a sensuous, Leonine Delilah. He's
ruled by Venus, and nothing brings him more peace of mind and spirit than fulfilling
his deep, earthy romantic desires with a passionate Lioness - unless it's
counting a stack of fresh, new green bills, or sniffing a home-baked apple pie,
just out of the oven.
On the negative side, if the exchange of energies from the Sun and the
Moon in their respective birth charts is square or opposed, there must be some
heavy adjustments made in relation to the sexual harmony they achieve. He
may slowly and gradually, but very finally, tire of trying to please her and to
feed her insatiable ego, if he's forced to frequently sleep alone - or face her
bored back in bed - when he hasn't made her feel cherished enough during the
day to make her feel he deserves her royal favors at night.
Or perhaps she's the one who will slowly and gradually, but very finally, become
weary of secretly wishing he'd try harder to fulfill her physical needs by
making her feel adored and intensely desired, sexually. The Bull's sensual,
down-to-earth, and sometimes unimaginative lovemaking may leave her lying
awake beside him, hour after hour, dreaming of the Prince who never comes to
claim her waiting heart... shedding quiet tears she's too proud to let him see, or
to ever tell him about. And after a while, the warm-hearted, high-spirited and
affectionate Lioness may become totally frigid.
Frigidity is ever a lurking danger with the instinctively passionate Leo
woman. If she's continually neglected, from her fiery dreams and desires of
youth she'll freeze into the cool detachment of the Leonine nature, a defense
mechanism that's not natural, and is always very sad. Detachment because -
what Queen would allow anyone to guess she isn't completely worshiped? Not
even the Prince Consort who has so tragically failed her will be permitted to
glimpse her broken heart, or be made aware of her terrible emptiness and loneliness.
False pride is every Leo's Waterloo.
It's his bull-headedness and her false pride combined that keeps them both
restless (or resigned) and unfulfilled. Somehow, there's a lack of honest communication
between them. So they never discuss their individual lovemaking disappointments
with one another - until love solidifies into nothing but a sort of
comfortable familiarity and companionship - or shatters into divorce. Sometimes
one or the other of these two lovers or mates will find escape through
drink, drugs or casual affairs. But usually not. They're both too basically honorable
to be disloyal, too conscious of their reputations to make public fools of
themselves - yet too stubborn (him) and too proud (her) to seek a solution, tenderly
and gently . . . together. But it's never too late for mutual confession and
humility to create an unexpected miracle. They should both begin by remembering
how it was between them when they first fell in love. The memory will
soften them . . . and they can progress from there.
This is not a man who will appreciate his woman serving him dainty food,
or pressing him into fastidious behavior at home or in public. She'll discover
that the first time he yells at her, during dinner, "Where's the ketchup bottle?"
"You call that a sandwich? Take it back to the kitchen and add a few layers."
Or - "How about a coffee mug, woman? These little china things give me the
willies."
Don't ask where he got the word "willies." Taureans have a way of manufacturing
words that have a soft, cuddly sound, whether they're insulting or
complimentary. Did you ever have a Bull call you "Honey"? It's an experience
in total sensuality, which is no wonder, when they all have those deep, mellow,
buttery voices, unmatched by any other man, except Scorpio.
She'll accuse him of being sometimes slightly uncouth, and nearly always
obstinate, as, of course, he definitely is. He'll accuse her of being haughty, highand-
mighty, and snobbish, as, of course she definitely is. What do you do, when
one's worst complaints against the other are justified and true? It's simple.
(Not easy, but simple.) She'll have to comprehend that his lack of "couth" is
simply indicative of his earthy, rather dependable nature, his contempt for the
frivolous and the non-genuine - the phony. She'd do well to imitate it. She'll
also have to recognize that his obstinacy indicates his strength of character, and
stop deliberately inciting it by behaving like a spoiled Queen, who pouts when
she doesn't win her own way. She can always get around his obstinacy if she

His Lioness is enormously capable of both giving and receiving love, if
only she's properly appreciated and loved in return.
Whatever age the Bull may be, he's a Teddy Bear at heart, the chubby,
high-chair-stage symbolic Baby of the zodiac (as described in "The Twelve Mysteries
of Love," in the front of this book). I once knew a Leo woman who could
not see her Taurus husband as any sort of "Teddy Bear," or cuddly in any way.
She saw him only as a stubborn, mature man, who believed in nothing but "the
practical," and who thought all sentiment was silly, sentimental rubbish. One
day, I coaxed her into taking home to him a large stuffed, furry Bull. The kind
of toy one normally gives to - yes, to a baby. He grunted.
That was it. Didn't even say "thanks." He completely ignored the furry
image of himself - for weeks. The hurt and wounded Lioness placed it on the
television, where he'd be sure to see it constantly, and still - not a word from
the phlegmatic, undemonstrative Taurean. Then he became ill. During his illness,
while he was asleep one morning, she happened to unthinkingly move the
toy Bull from the television while she was cleaning. When her Taurus husband
awoke from his nap, his roar could be heard all over the house.
TO MY BULL? WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY BULL?
shouted. She'll learn.
The Bull and the Lioness will have to start listening to each other's silent,
pleading hearts when what she's really saying, beneath her haughtiness,
is - "Please,
beneath his stony stubbornness, is - "Please, promise me you'll stay, and

tries, with amazing ease, simply by hugging and kissing and squeezing him into
contentment again.
He must realize that her haughtiness is nothing but her inbred protection
against exposing her fears of imagined inadequacy, therefore losing face and
subjecting herself to painful ridicule - and stop deliberately causing it by refusing
to acknowledge her very real superiority as a woman - and her deep need to
be drenched in extravagant compliments. He can always get around her quite
easily, by taking her out to sparkle in public more often, and showing her - especially
hugeness. The

knows she deserves. She wants a lover or mate who will allow her to live in the
style to which she would like to become accustomed, surrounded by luxury and
literate friends . . . an existence overflowing with beautiful clothes, parties and
brainy conversations, with rings on her fingers, bells on her toes, and maybe
even an occasional photographic safari to Africa - or summers on the Riviera.
"July and August are so unpleasant in Manhattan (or Los Angeles) don't you
agree? All those tourists." (Translation: peasants.)
You can understand then, why she feels a little tense and restless if the
Taurus man she loves expects her to hang around in a small apartment, bringing
him his beer and pretzels, while he watches television and reads the

he thinks men who wear house slippers are sissified.

TAURUS WOMAN AND LEO MAN

Every Taurus woman has an affinity for music. She has a rich, musical voice,
whether she's singing Carmen at the Met or simply saying, "I'll take two extra
pints of cream today" to the milkman. Some Taureans compose music, direct it,
or sing it - and all of them bask in it. Listening to its soothing sounds has a
tranquilizing effect on the Bulls.
So, how could there be friction when a Leo man, married to a Taurus woman,
wants to play music? There can be. And that's what astrology means by
stating that their natal Suns are squared. This is the difficult and tense 4-10
Sun Sign Pattern, which may be a challenge, but which is more richly rewarding
than all the others, if the challenges are courageously faced and conquered. Incidents
which could never become unpleasant between any two other people,
based on situations where harmony should naturally exist, can erupt into volcanos
between a Leo and a Taurus, unless there's an unusually favorable Sun-
Moon aspect between them.
A couple of years ago, I was visiting in the home of a Carmel, California couple,
who have been an unusually loyal and devoted pair for many years. She's a
Taurus. He's a Leo. She's a karate instructor. He's a poet, and an Oriental art
dealer. The evening I was there, after enjoying a delicious dinner cooked by the
Taurean wife, the three of us were discussing music, and the Lion and I discovered
we had a mutual love for a particular version of "Ave Maria." When he
placed an LP recording of the classic on the stereo, I leaned back in my chair,
prepared to enjoy the music bouncing around the rafters from the many speakers
the Lion had built and installed himself all over the house.
But as the opening chords swelled out to fill the room, I noticed the Taurus
wife had disappeared. Suddenly, I heard a door slam -
slightly abashed, explained: "Louise can't stand it when I play the stereo, so I
guess she's gone to bed." It shocked me so much I couldn't concentrate on the
recording. A normally gracious and hospitable Taurus woman being rude to a
guest? A Venus-ruled woman who hates

"Then why "I asked.
"You mean last night," she sniffed, icily. "I just can't bear to be around
when Larry plays his stereo. He insists on turning up the volume so high, it
drowns out all the tones, and hurts my ears. It's really a prostitution of music, I
think, to play it that loudly, but you can't reason with him about it, so that's
that." (The Taurus resignation to the inevitable.) "Tell me," she said, "since
you're an astrologer - does his horoscope indicate that he's deaf?" (The Taurean
humor, never subtle.)
No, he wasn't deaf. He was expressing his Leo urge to do everything on a
grand scale, even though this particular Lion is the Shy Pussycat type. Whatever
type he is, a Leo man can't bear to do things by half measures, and this
compulsion is completely unrelated to his manner (if he's one of the quieter, lessbecame the channelbetween them, and their Leo mates.his ruler, which is why he's so noble and generous, despite his occasionalLeo is the
giving, and this one can. Her sensual talents for eroticism certainly won't displease
him either. They'll make him "feel like a King," an expression many
Leos use to describe their sexual fulfillment with the right woman.
However, her quality of conserving words isn't quite as soothing to the
Lion, outside the bedroom. She may be less than ecstatic when he becomes
emotionally aroused, and desperately needs an attentive, approving audience.
She may even yawn in the middle of one of his dramatic speeches or lectures,
and nothing can so cruelly destroy this man's sensitive ego so much as an obvious
sign of boredom from a rebellious subject - especially from the woman he
loves. If she really wants to keep this man forever (and every Taurus woman
seeks the security of romantic permanence) she'd better drink pots of black coffee,
and make sure she remains wide awake when her Lion is on stage.
The most common complaint of the Lion against a Taurus girl is that she
lacks enthusiasm. He often feels like shaking her into action, and shouting,
"Say
something! Do something! Anything at all. But don't just sit there."
Her
household words,
most common complaint against him can be summed up in four Shakespearean"Much ado about nothing."
He'll love the way she can turn a leaky tent into a cozy castle, her talent for
making a dollar stretch like Silly Putty, and her rich humor - though he won't
appreciate her jokes that ridicule his dignity, or puncture large holes in his ego.
She'll warm up to her Lion's bear hugs, and intensely admire his ability to organize
his dreams into the marble and alabaster of reality. She will not, of course,
be at all happy about his extravagant tendencies, or his need to go out and review
the troops when he feels the need for a little extra applause from the
crowd. They'll always have their periodic tugs of tension. After all, they are
both Fixed. Yet, the secret respect they feel for one another sometimes creates
an unexpectedly soft, soothing carpet beneath their differences of opinion.
This lady doesn't allow herself to display visible anger often. She's patient,
good humored, and willing to bear a great deal of silliness, along with Life's sadness,
without evidencing excessive emotion. But when she does become angry -
good and angry - it's best to get out of her way. Like, across town. Or maybe
even another city or state, until she cools off and calms down - which she'll never
fail to do eventually. A Taurus woman is always deeply ashamed of her own
weakness, after she's given in to an emotional tantrum (during which her
"creamy-smooth" Venus voice will more resemble that of a drill sergeant who
trained for the operatic stage in youth - loud and forceful), and so she may be
extra shy and affectionately loving later in trying to balance her act. But the
Lion shouldn't let her sweetness following a disagreement fool him. She remembers
what it was he did to arouse her Bull-like fury, and she'll remember it for
years . . . and years . . . and years. Taureans tear into a wild and furious rampage
of anger only very rarely - sometimes only once or twice during a lifetime.
But it isn't the quantity of Taurus anger that matters - it's the
A lady Bull shows her temper more frequently than just mentioned only if
she's constantly and continually goaded by the domineering ways of a Leo who
lectures her and scolds her periodically, and then, when she won't obey his every
whim, turns away from her and pouts for long periods. That sort of behavior
can rumble any Earth Sign into furious frustration, if it's prolonged over a long
period of time.
This woman is made of more than her Taurean temper and stubbornness.
She's also made of steadiness, courage, warmth, unswerving devotion, placidity,
calmness and deep, deep emotions. She's enormously affectionate and giving,
quality. Volcanic.
and her natural ability to laugh at herself is one of her most endearing qualities
(unless she has a Leo, Scorpio or Capricorn Moon Sign or Ascendent - in which
case she'll find it hard to chuckle when the joke's on her). There's no nonsense
about this lady. She's sensible, down-to-earth, and she never pretends to be
something she's not. She's real and genuine, honest and reliable - rather worth
keeping.
As for him, he's made of more than his pride, vanity and self-centeredness.
He's also made of sunshine and hope and confidence. His wisdom and benevolence
are unmatched, when he feels he's really needed. The Lion will stand
bravely against an army, to defend what he believes in his heart is right and
true - just as he'll fight any force that threatens to harm the woman he loves,
however uneven the battle may seem, even when the odds seem to be hopelessly
against him. Whatever kind of pain she feels, whether it's physical or emotional,
her pain is Leo's sworn enemy - something he must defeat, to prove his worth
to his lady. Very much like the Knights who fought for King Arthur. Except
that Leo is both Knight
In his imagination, he lives in the Age of Chivalry, the Age of Romance. He
belongs to another century, another time . . . when there were still worlds left to
conquer, visions to follow, and dreams to dream. He tries hard to make the best
of being lost somewhere on the time track, in a strange country where his leadership
is not needed, and his ideals are not cheered. Even his white horse is gone.
And the Holy Grail is only a memory from long ago. Leo, the Lion-Hearted, is
therefore more wounded and lonely in spirit than those who see only his surface
armour of arrogance ever guess.
No matter how many obstacles this man and woman face in achieving emotional
harmony together, they'll stand by each other, against the whole world, if
necessary. When fate brings sorrow or tragedy, neither of them will fail the test
of loyalty. And that can be love's most enduring song - with or without the
background music.

flamboyant Leos, in his outward personality). If it's a house, it must be large
and luxurious, with a private den for him (his royal throne room, in a manner of
speaking). If it's a woman, she must be both beautiful and intelligent. If it's a
ring, it must be glittery, and visible across the room. When the Lion weeps, he
sheds great torrents of tears. When he laughs, he laughs long and loudly. When
he listens to music, he needs to hear it soar gloriously, to fill his heart and soul
and ears. And when he's hurt, he either roars dramatically, or blushes furiously
in humiliated frustration - as my Leo host, Larry, did rather frequently during
my visit with him and his Bull wife, Louise.
Ordinarily, a Taurus female would never object to her husband's playing
music, whatever the volume. Yet, I know another Taurus woman who sighed in
ecstasy when her Lion courted her with a ukulele, in West Virginia, during their
college courting days - then became bored each time he played and sang for her
after they were married. You see, it's not a Taurean antipathy for music these
two lady Bulls were displaying. Music, in both cases, simply
for the square of tension
Whether or not any individual Leo male possesses the emotional poise to
deserve his astrological comparison to a King, this is nevertheless his private
ambition - to rule those around him, most definitely including the Lion's own
mate. A Taurus girl instinctively desires to submit to her man, to stick by his
side faithfully and loyally through all seasons. But being ruled sounds suspiciously
to her like being pushed, and no Bull will tolerate being pushed. Although
Taurus women are capable of deep, lasting devotion and a warm-hearted
love, they don't toss around careless compliments, they have no use at all for
flattery, and they think worship is for the weak-minded. Since all Lions require
and demand compliments, flattery and worship, you can see what's often missing
in the relationship.
Leos are fiercely proud, fiery people, who brandish their own batons and
refuse to play second fiddle to anyone. Even the Shy Pussycat Leo smolders
with resentment when he's denied his rightful place in the Sun, preferably a few
miles ahead and beyond anyone else who may be soaking up its rays. After all,
the Sun is
arrogance and freezing attitude of superiority. To him, the Sun is not the
center of the Universe, around which all the other planets revolve.
center of the Universe, around which his family (and hopefully, his friends) revolve
- or they'd better, if they don't want to be frozen and ignored for the sin
of not paying due respect at court.

sometimes a shade tyrannical, he's a gentle, magnanimous lover, after a quarrel.
His Leonine nobility of spirit makes it natural for him to want to kiss and make
up. Verbal apologies he can't handle gracefully. They destroy his vanity. But
he'll show he's sincerely sorry with a variety of romantic overtures. That's why
these two often sense more empathy and mutual harmony in their sexual relationship

reconcile an argument with a Taurus girl. She'll remain stone-faced and immune
to flowery words and persuasive arguments. Long conversations bore her,

she'll respond beautifully to his passionate acts of love, and it all works out fine.
They often reconcile after a squabble without the proud Lion ever having to lose

music. I have, ever since I was a child."
